Extrude – Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint

Thermoplastic Thermoplastic

Extrude Road Marking Paint

LineSTİL Thermoplastic Extrude Road Marking Paint is a type of road marking material typically manufactured in solid block or powder form using natural rosin ester-modified resins.

Before application, it is melted at high temperatures—between 180°C and 220°C, or more commonly 180°C to 210°C as noted in various sources. Once melted, the material is applied to the road surface using the Extrude method with specialized equipment. Since the formulation is solvent-free, it is environmentally friendly.

Key
Properties and Advantages

One of the key features of this paint is its ability to deliver excellent long-term retroreflectivity, adhesion, and abrasion resistance on asphalt surfaces. When applied using the Extrude method, it offers very fast drying times; sources indicate that the painted area can typically be opened to traffic within 4 to 7 minutes depending on surface temperature. This fast curing minimizes disruption to traffic flow.

Furthermore, Extrude applications—especially for profiled markings—offer enhanced visibility under wet and nighttime conditions. These markings also provide advanced visual and auditory effects, which help alert fatigued drivers when they drift outside their lanes, enhancing road safety.

Application
Areas and Method

Thermoplastic Extrude Road Marking Paint is used for flat lines, profiled lines, and intermittent (dashed) lines. These types of markings are particularly effective in improving road safety in wet and low-visibility conditions. The application method involves melting the material and applying it to the road surface using Extrude equipment.

Machines such as the LINESTİL Thermoplastic 10000—specifically designed for thermoplastic road marking—are capable of applying the material using screw-based (helix or extrude-related) systems. This paint and application method are especially suited for intercity highways and motorways where fast drying and minimal traffic disruption are critical.
